Full Church at Adoration © COB

Every person who comes to Medjugorje should experience Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at St. James Church on Tuesday and Saturday evenings, as well as after Croatian Mass on Thursday evenings, and veneration of the cross on Friday evenings.

Adoration is a beautiful experience in Medjugorje. Our Lady has come to teach us how to adore Her Son in simplicity through song, spoken meditations and silence. It is truly a unique experience of Medjugorje for English speaking pilgrims to kneel in prayer before their Lord beside French pilgrims, Italian pilgrims, Croatian, German, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Hungarian, Slovakia and Czech Republic, African, Asian, Filipinos, Mexican, and a host of other pilgrims from other countries around the world. There are few places on the face of the earth in which the universality of the Church is so visible and so powerful. Our Lady has told us that She is always present when the faithful are adoring Her Son.

March 15, 1984

This day, like every Thursday evening, the faithful were worshipping the Most Holy Sacrament, but this evening it was noticed that many people remained in the church for adoration, although they had worked hard in the fields.

Our Lady's message:

“Tonight also, dear children, I am grateful to you in a special way for being here. Unceasingly adore the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I am always present when the faithful are adoring. Special graces are then being received.”

On the night of the 25th of every month, the day Our Lady gives Her monthly message to the world, all night adoration takes place in St. James Church. It is a beautiful opportunity to take the newly given words of Our Lady, available at the Caritas Mission House, and go before the Blessed Sacrament to meditate and respond to Our Lady's words.
