Apparition Time

Lady's Praying in Front of Church © COB

The evening services, which include the apparition of Our Lady, Confession, three mysteries of the Rosary, Holy Mass and the 7 Our Father’s, Hail Mary’s and Glory Be’s, evolved from the actions of Our Lady in the early days of the apparitions. Up until the time of the war in Bosnia-Hercegovina, the apparitions of Our Lady often took place on the grounds of the church in different locations. After the war, it had become more common, especially once the visionaries began to marry, to have the apparitions in their private homes. Today, this remains the situation for the apparitions. It is a rare occasion for an apparition to take place on the grounds of the church. Our Lady, however, continues to bless those who are gathered at the church at apparition time. You may bring your religious articles to the church at this time as Our Lady blesses all religious articles during Her apparition each evening.

We strongly encourage you to have an awareness of the time of apparition (5:40 p.m. in the winter, 6:40 p.m. in the summer) because Our Lady has told us there are particular graces available to us at that time.

Advice to the pilgrims from Our Lady:

“When you are in the room of the apparitions or at the church, you should not preoccupy yourselves with taking pictures. Rather, you should use the time to pray to Jesus, especially in those moments of particular grace during the apparitions.”

The normal apparition lasts anywhere between 2-4 minutes long. It is at this moment we especially encourage you to lift your heart to Our Lady and give Her all your problems, difficulties and love within the silence of your own heart. Do not allow yourself to feel rushed or feel that you must immediately enter back into the recitation of the Rosary, but allow yourself the time to really have a meeting of hearts with Our Lady.

“...I desire for you to comprehend that I want to realize here, not only a place of prayer but also a meeting of hearts. I desire for my, Jesus’ and your heart to become one heart of love and peace...”

We also strongly encourage you to kneel down in honor of Our Lady’s coming to the earth. Man, throughout the ages, has always shown respect and homage to earthly kings. If we do so for creatures whom we recognize who hold positions of authority and respect, is not our obligation much greater to bend our knee to the Holy Woman chosen among all women to bear the Savior to the world?
